Comfrey was brought from Kelly Smith as a new blood line to breed to the many carrier females that I have had born this year as a way of increasing the blood lines that I currently have.  He is totally unrelated to any of the other sapphire stocks that i have here.

 

Comfrey is a very nervous chin and barks a lot whenever you go near his cage, he does calm down a lot when you get into the cage and stroke him but can be very skittish when you first are there until he settles - a few bite sized shredded wheat soon get him much more receptive.

 

His size and shape are not as good as would be liked for breeding top quality breeding animals, but the unrelated sapphire genes he carries means that obtaining one litter from him with a large blocky dense furred female could be a good proposition.

 

Following the succesfull breeding program of sapphires, better standard carrying males were produced to be kept for our breeding lines, therefore Comfrey was sold to Pixie in October 2004.
