Cornflower arrived along with her litter mate, Bluebell, from Ebony Dragon Chinchillas.    Collected at the Napton Show, January 2004, they were the part of the second wave of sapphire related stock to arrive.

 

They are caged together still being to young to breed from and are both a bit skittish about being caught and handled, but do enjoy having the cage door left open so they can hop out and have a run round - and do tend to run back in on there own when I approach, so still have not been handled a great deal - something that will be rectified over the coming months before they will be placed into breeding.

 

At present there is very little to tell the difference between the two sisters though Bluebell does appear to be slightly larger and has better veiling down her sides. Cornflower does seem more inquisitive than her sister though and will come looking for treats so long as you don't move too fast.
