Fern was acquired from a rescue centre as a kit of approx 6 months, his mum had been taken to the centre and gave birth to three kits. He was the only male in the litter- the other two litter mates were also standard grey. No information about the dad was supplied.
He was very timid when he arrived, but soon grew used to handling and became very friendly - he has also grown very fast and remained fit and healthy since.
His coat is extremely thick and plush and he has shape is good for future breeding.
Though he ha lovely plush fur and nice dark veiling, his conformation however only pet quality, being rather small and thin in the neck.
. Lilac produced a second litter of being paired to Fern on 29-1-04 and the 2 kits were both violet, this means that Fern has to be a violet carrier.
He has been rehomed on 14th January 2003, as Lilac rejected him over Christmas and beat him up quite badly - they then refused to pair up with each other once more, so the hard decision was made to find him a loving home where he would get the care and attention he required and a new friend to live with.
