Fuchsia arrived as a non-breeding animal from Albatross Chinchillas to go in with Ash, the pet male that we still keep here.
Fuchsia was used for breeding in her old home and produced three litters of solo kits, the last being in 2001, then despite still being paired to males had not produced any kits since.
Fuchsia was a really large female upon arrival - nearly 900g - but did have small rolls of fat under her armpits - so has been on a high fibre and high exercise regime. And it has worked wonders, she has lost approximately 80g and evened out and is a lot more active and mobile now.
During October 2004, a new pet home became available for Fuschia and rather than her being paired in the retirement cage she went off to live with a young white female called Kyra and a castrated male standard.

3 litters of one kit each for Albatross Chinchillas, the last in 2001
