Herb was born one of triplets, along with a female (Henbane) and a dead male. He was the slightly smallest of the litter at 48g.
He is a lively little guy and very eager to run round the cage and does not like to be caught for his weighing sessions - though soon settles down for a cuddle once you have managed to catch him.
At birth the bellies of the kits were not totally clear and for this reason are being closely watched to see how they develop - sometimes recessive babies do show tinted bellies- but if they stay tinged as they grow their full adult fur it would suggest that their are ebony genes in Dahlia which means she would need to be removed from the charcoal breeding program and her kits would not be useable either.
