Hyacinth was born the bigger of two kits in the litter - her litter brother was also a violet, named Thyme.
The colour of the kits was totally unexpected as I had no idea that the father was a violet carrier until this litter was produced.
Birth weight was a very healthy 54g, but upon investigation it was found that in her clean up process mum had torn the fur off the inside thigh of the back leg. I shall keep an eye on this t make sure that no infection creeps in. She is running around like a lunatic and already pushing and fighting her brother to get to the milk bar first.
Looks like she could develop into a right little madam.
Hyacinth died at 19 days old, as Lilac her mum got a uterine infection and the milk dried up- despite attempts to hand feed, we believe that she caught part of the infection which over powered here.
