Layla was bought by Susan Daniels of Chingus Chinchillas, back in March of 1999. She had been shown but Fred didn't supply her show winnings at that time - though the price she paid reflects that the animal had done well.
Layla is a lovely friendly chin who always sticks her head out of her cage for a stroke whenever you go near. When she is out on her daily runs she doesn't tend to be as energetic as the others but sits watching them -almost like a queen lording it over the lower classes beneath her.
Layla has ears where the ends turn over slightly, which gives her a very comical and cute look. This trait has been passed on to some of her daughters.
