Nightshade came to Greenwood Chinchillas along with her daughter, Levi (a beige). She was named Lily but as we already had a female by this name she needed to have a name change.
She had originally been bred by Brenvics Chinchillas who do not supply pedigrees thought breed from good quality show stock and was originally sold to a pet home from who we acquired her.
She was a very timid animal upon arrival but has become much more friendly over time and enjoys a good cuddle after her run before returning to her cage for her sand bath.
She had not been shown before her arrival but despite her age we took her along to one show and she received excellent comments about her colour and clarity but her conformation was classed as poor so she received no award. It was said to pair her to a good dark blue male to produce some good velvet kits.
