Raki is a poor little chin that has had a lot of rehoming since his birth. He was bought from Tessa of Gravesend who though devoted to him felt he would be better off with myself where he could have a good little girlfriend to keep him happy - she still asks for updates on how he is and gets regular pictures
It was traced that he came to her from Hazel, who originally got him from Emma on Chinchillas Unlimited (chinchin) - further investigations produced a full pedigree for him from her, including date of birth and linage. .
I have been told that when Hazel had him, he did father a litter, but unfortunately there were complications with the birth and the 2 kits and mum were lost.
He is a lovely rich dark black along his mask and spine - the colour descending at least half way down his sides - completely down over the haunches, he also has a lovely blue sheen to his fur. He is however rather long in the body so needs to be paired to blocky females.
He is a very friendly chin and loves to have a fuss -and goes absolutely wild for mini shredded wheat - he is also a little darling when it comes to catching him after his run to put him away - he will actually sit still for you to catch him and put him back! something not many of mine will do!
He gets on well with all the other chins and is always trying to make friends with the others - so he very quickly join Violet and Lavender in their cage - without any incidents - thought they did ignore him for a day or two then decided he was no threat and snuggle up together!
Following an upgrade in our own breeding stock, Raki was rehomed to a new starter breeder as a male from which to breed.
