Rocky was originally bred by Susan Daniels of Chingus Chinchillas, and sold as a pet to a family when he was weaned.

 

After I had taken over her herd she was contacted asking if she could take him back as their circumstances had changed and they could no longer look after him.  She no longer kept chinchillas herself so I took him back into the herd as he is a very nice chinchilla with good strong fur, good size and conformation and a good medium dark colouration.

 

He is a very friendly chin and lies quite still in your arms for a snuggle when you get him out of his cage - he is also fast to pair up with the females and can be seen to be fairly active straight away!  I'm hoping some nice kits will be produced from those he has been paired to.

 

Unfortunately he has not been shown but I do believe that he could do very well as he compares very favourably to the other chins here that have already won awards and to which he is related.

 

 

18-4-04  Rocky has gone to live with Margaret in Coventry as a foundation male for her breeding stock.  It is possible that he may be shown in the future.
