Thyme was born the smaller of two kits in the litter - his litter sister was also a violet, named Hyacinth.
The colour of the kits was totally unexpected as I had no idea that the father was a violet carrier until this litter was produced.
Birth weight was a very healthy 44g, and he was up and running around very quickly, along with his sister. They both seem to be very lively and could turn out to be some good shaped and coloured chins over time
Following a uterine infection, Lilacs milk dried up when Thyme was only 19 days old, he was fostered to Bryony who also had a kit at that time and she accepted him and fed him for 20 hours, before turning on him and biting off te end of his nose and putting a puncture wound in his check. Despite veterinary care and hand feeding he unfortunately lost his fight for life the next day whilst sitting in my lap. I had been up all night willing him to live and feeding him one drip at a time.
