Yarrow was bought at the Bo'ness Scottish show from Sharon who was downsizing her herd due to pregnancy.
He was originally bred by Aileen Cook of Kingdom Chinchillas and she pointed him out as being for sale at a very reasonable price because a fast sale was needed. She offered to provide me with a copy of his pedigree if I did buy him - something I gladly accepted.
Yarrow is a lovely cuddly chin with thick plush fur and nice dark colouring to the head and back, though the colour could do with extending slightly more down the sides. He is also a little undersize but being paired to a good large blocky female will hopefully remove that trait from the kits produced.
He has already fathered two litters for Sharon, which were also shown at the Scottish show.
He is currently paired to Bryony, but is a very skittish chin and appears to be rather timid with other animals if they are bouncy and fast moving, I think he may have been attack in the past. It takes a while to pair him to females, longer than my other males, but once achieved he seems happy to remain with them. He really needs some tender time and patience to help him regain some trust in people and other chins.
Yarrow was rehomed to Anne on 30th June 2004. He is going off to a pet home with a view to being bred in the future. It is a shame he is not suited to the type of accommodation we can provide here but really needs some more specific individual attention.
He does appear to have left us with a little going away present though, Bryony, who has been paired to him for a while appears to be gaining weight so could well be pregnant.
